A bedtime story for tonight
A shoemaker sets one difficult seam down for the night, and the orchard keeps the evening.
Headphones on. Told by George, an AI voice.
At the end of an orchard lane stood a workshop with a round window. In autumn, the apple branches leaned close enough to shade its sill. Tonight the leaves were wet from an afternoon shower, and every so often the breeze lifted them together, turning their silver undersides toward the sky.
You can come alone tonight. Come together when there is an hour.
